(ẹ)    Kọ lẹ́tà sí olótùú ìwé ìròyìn kan nípa àwọn ìṣọ̀ro tí ó ń dojú kọ ìdàgbàsókè ètò ọ̀rọ̀ ajé orílè-èdè rẹ̀ àti àwọn ọ̀nà àbáyọ sí àwọn ìṣòro náà.


Observation

 

(a) This is a descriptive essay which requires the candidates to give a detailed description of the house they had earlier lived in. Most candidates focused on their experience in the house without giving the description of the house.


(b) This is an argumentative essay.   Candidates were required to write in favour of or against the topic “children are more important than money”. Some of the candidates wrote extensively on the topic however, they failed to take a stand thereby reducing their chances of scoring reasonable marks in this question.


(d) This is an expository essay on the palm tree. 

Few of the candidates who attempted this question understood the topic. Most of the candidates concentrated on the uses of the palm tree.


(e) This is a narrative essay on an inter house sport competition candidates witnessed. Some candidates who chose this question performed fairly well.

 

(ẹ) Candidates were expected to write a formal letter to an editor of a news paper on the problems facing the economy of their nation and state the solutions to the problems.

 

Most of the candidates who attempted this question tackled this topic   very well but some candidates missed out on the address of the writer. Also, some of them wrote only their first name at the end of the letter instead of surname and first name.
