Question  6:    Luke 10: 25-37

(a)        Narrate the parable of the Good Samarian.

(b)        In what three ways did the parable illustrate concern for one another?

Observation

This was another popular question in this section.  Many of the candidates scored high marks.  They answered the question quite well only that some did not mention the priest and Levite position, and the discussion Jesus had with the lawyer.  The candidates were supposed to write that:

 

  1. A lawyer asked Jesus, who is my neighbour;
  2. And Jesus answered with the parable of the good Samaritan;
  3. Who was travelling from Jerusalem to Jericho but was attacked by robbers.

                                                  
But they were able to discuss the (b) part well i.e. they condemned the attitudes of the church leaders to the wounded.  They emphasized on the need to love, help, render assistance and to be our brothers’ keeps in emergency cases.  Their performance here is quite encouraging.
