SECTION C: THEMES FROM SELECTED EPISTLES

Question  11:  1 Thessalonians 4: 13 – 18; 2 Thessalonians 2: 1 – 12

(a)        With reference to the letters of Paul to the Thessalonians, highlight the occurrences that would herald the second coming of Jesus Christ.

(b)        Outline four steps which Christians should take to meet Jesus on his second coming

 

The candidates were to highlight the occurrences that would herald the second coming of Christ .  The question was not too popular with the candidates.  Most of them did not have enough points at their disposal, hence they guessed. Others gave sketchy answers and missed valuable marks.

However, they made mention that the dead in Christ will rise first followed by the living, the cry of command, arch angels call and the sound of the trumpet of God and all to meet the lord in the clouds.

The (b) part of the question was their undoing as only few gave correct answers.  The points they would have mentioned are:

(i)         The need to be sober
(ii)        Keep awake to watch and pray;
(iii)       Encourage/build one another.

The performance of the candidates in this question was quite poor
