Though a popular question, many candidates wasted time telling the story of the contest on mount Carmel .  The (b) part of the question did not help matter e.g. they found it difficult to mention that:

            (i)         Elisha was to succeed Elijah;
            (ii)        Jehu as king of Israel was to destroy the house of Ahab;
            (iii)       king Hazel of Syria was to torment Israel.
