This was a popular question among the candidates. However, most of their answers were not as detailed as expected.

The following points were expected from the candidates:

  • Statement of the central themes of poverty and racial discrimination.
  • Character identification.
  • His desire to improve his lot and that of his family.
  • Walter’s expectations and admiration for success.
  • Walter’s investment in liquor business and the end result.
  • Walter’s reconciliation with his family.
  • The family’s determination to move to Clybourne Park, which to them signifies success.

 

Candidates’ performance in this question was fair.
