This was a popular question among the candidates. The forging of the anvil and the hammer to accommodate each other to form a new Africa is left out entirely.

Candidates were expected to discuss the following points:

• Relation to the theme.
• The African dilemma.
• Anvil and the Hammer connoting the violence of a new birth.
• The product of forging; imperfect Africa.
• The prospect of the New Africa.
• Uneasiness of the process of accommodation.

Candidates’ performance was poor.
