  • As a result of the unity, the Muslims became more powerful and victorious at wars.

  • Transliteration

    Bismillāhir Raḩmānir Raḩīm

  • Qul yā ayyuhal kāfirūn

  • Lā a‘budu mā ta‘budūn

  • Walā ’antum ‘ābidūna mā a‘bud

  • Walā anā ‘ābidun mā ‘abadtun

  • Walā antum ‘ābidūna mā a‘bud

  • Lakum dīnukum wa liya dīn.

  • Comment:
  • The Sūrah is titled al-Kāfirūn meaning: The Unbelievers.

  • It is Chapter 109 of the Qur’ān with 6 verses.

  • It is a Makkan Sūrah.

  • The Quraysh idol-worshippers of Makkah proposed to Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) to alternate in act of worship.
  • The Sūrah was revealed in response to this request.

  • Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) being a monotheist rejected the proposal.

  • This rejection was based on the principle that polytheism cannot co-habit with monotheism.
