Question 2:     1 Kings 8: 1-53

(a)        Give an account of the dedication of the Temple by King Solomon.

(b)        In what three ways is the Church significant in the life of Christians?

However in the (b) part of the question some wrote accurately on the importance of the church in the life of a Christian i.e. for prayer, worship and fellowship; sacraments of baptism; Holy Communion and marriage rites.  On the whole the scores of the candidates were quite low.

Most candidates did not answer the question properly due to poor knowledge of the question.  A few who did went astray.  They wrote on his prayers at Gibeon instead of his prayer at the dedication of the temple and this eventually earned them low marks.  They failed to mention that:

1. All the holy vessels in the tent were brought to the temple;
2. Many sheep and oxen were sacrificed;
3. The king blessed all the assembly of Israel as they stood by.
