Demonstrate skillfully a javelin throw covering a good distance paying attention to grip, carriage, run-up and execution.                                                                      [25 marks]

All performances should be judged according to the following rubrics.
Grip
(i)         grasp/grip at the rear of the binding cord on the shaft
(ii)        thumb-rests slightly on the shaft
(iii)       adopt any convenient type of grip
(iv)       arm gripping the implement is relaxed
(v)        firm grip

Carriage
(i)         assume comfortable style of carriage
(ii)        firmly held
(iii)       the tip points to the direction of throw
(iv)       arm carrying the implement is extended/flexed
(v)        body faces the direction of throw

Run up

(i)         run fast
(ii)        towards the direction of throw
(iii)       head of the implement points upward slightly
(iv)       high knee raised within the runway
(v)        cross leg movement

Execution
           
(i)         force is applied            
(ii)        arm holding the implement is fully extended backward
(iii)       arm holding the implement is brought forward from the back
(iv)       release from above the head
(v)        follow through / recovery
