Candidates were required to state the difference between the nucleus and the coda of a syllable in (a) and identify the nucleus and the coda of syllable in the given data in (b).
(a) i Odo Sílébù máa ń sábà jẹ́ fáwẹ̀lì/kọ́ńsónáǹtì aránmú aṣesílébù. Odo sílébù ni ó maá ń gba àmì ohùn. Òun ni a máa ń sábà gbọ́ ketekete bí a bá pe ọ̀rọ̀ jáde lẹ́nu. Odo sílébù lè dá dúró.

Many candidates failed woefully in their attempt to tackle this question. Most of them could not state the difference between the nucleus and coda of the syllable in (a) and missed out in the identification of the nucleus and coda of syllable in the given data in (b), these led to loss of marks.
