Weakness and Remedies

Candidates’ weaknesses include their inability to:

• express themselves in simple English Language
• write correct spellings
• write legibly
• read the instructions carefully before answering the questions
• define health record
• explain birth rate and vital statistics
• explain dilation stage
• differentiate between pest and vector
• state importance of roughage in diet
• explain occupational hazard, industrial health services and rehabilitation
• explain consumer health products
• state importance of checking labels and expiry dates on products before purchase
• explain orthodox medicine and faith healing.

The following remedies were suggested to overcome these weaknesses:

• candidates should use recommended textbooks
• candidates should improve their handwriting
• candidates should endeavour to cover the syllabus before the commencement of the examination
• candidates should cultivate habit of reading
• candidates should familiarize themselves with terms use in health education.
