Question 2

State two qualities to consider when selecting timber for furniture.

Observation

Many candidates do not understand this concept thus, they failed to mention the importance of seasoning and preservatives.
           
Candidates were expected to state any two of the following qualities:

-           it should be dried to at least between 14% to 16% moisture content (well-seasoned) ;
-           it should be easy to work with (workable) ;
-           it should accept all finishes;
-           it should hold nails and screws well;
-           it should be free from defects.
