Candidates' Weakness

 

 Candidates weakness were observed as follow:

• Unable to explain types of  finishes  given to cotton fabrics (mercerization, sanforization and proban);
• Unable to clearly give the advantages and disadvantages of tracing wheel and tailor’s tacking;
• Unable to draw diagrams showing how to work on loop and buttonhole stitches;
• Unable to state the characteristics of Animal and man-made fibres.

To overcome these weaknesses,

• Teachers should devote more time on practical aspect of the subject.
• Adequate textbooks for students should be provided to enhance learning .
• Candidates should be made to produce sample articles on each topic taught.
• Teachers should be encouraged by organizing seminars and workshop for them.
