Observation

This question tested the candidates’ ability in speech writing.


As a student leader, the candidate was required to write a speech dissuading his colleagues from protesting against the school authorities.

Most candidates could not title speech properly but did very well in the body.

The points expected were:

B.        This is an informal letter. The candidate was required to write to a friend in another school who failed the promotion examination, giving him/her three reasons why he/she should repeat the class.

    D.        This question is an expository essay on the Igbo proverb “Anaghị amụ akaekpe na nka’’.

    Candidates were to interpret the proverb and illustrate it with a story.

    -           Ihe mmadụ esighị na nwata mewe na-ara ahụ ibido mewe ya n’okenye.

    E.        In this question, candidates were to write a dialogue on the problems being encountered by Obinna’s father is in paying his son’s school fees since his retirement.
