Candidate's Weakness and Remedies
A SUMMARY OF CANDIDATES’ WEAKNESSES
Candidates’ weaknesses were shown in the following areas:
- freehand isometric drawing;
- freehand sketch of specified workshop tool (mortise gauge)
- mechanical assembly drawing;
- use of conventional symbols;
- proper application of drawing principles;
- proportionality of parts in freehand sketching;
- neatness and linework.
SUGGESTED REMEDY FOR OVERCOMING THESE WEAKNESSES
Candidates were urged to study every item contained in their subjects study outlines. They were also advised to practice regularly and concentrate more on the identified weak areas. School owners were urged to equip their schools with viable studio for students’ practice and also ensure that only qualified persons teach the subject. Teachers were advised not to skip any part of the syllabus in grooming the students for examination.
