Observation

This question is on the impression of the society in the novel. Many candidates pointed out the ills that were observed in the society such as rape, stealing, smoking, etc.

Candidates were expected to mention the following points among others:

• The plight of the exploited street child
• A description of Maami Broni: her past and present occupation with the involvement of Baby T
• Maami Broni’s control over Baby T.
• The cause of Baby T’s death.
• Maami Broni’s cover up attempt.

Most answers did not touch on the above points but told stories to earn poor marks.
