Weakness & Remedies
The observed weaknesses of the candidates this year include:
- illegible handwriting;
 - inability to correctly label the different parts of a human tongue;
 - inability to correctly name the instruments illustrated in question 2(b);
 - poor mathematical and calculation skills required to answer questions 5(a),(b) and (c);
 - inability to correctly name the parts of the diagram in question 6;
 - poor spellings of technical terms;
 - inability to explain how oral rehydration solution is prepared.
 
The following remedies were suggested to overcome the weaknesses
Candidates should:
- cover the syllabus before sitting the examinations;
 - attend coaching lessons to learn more;
 - study past questions and Chief Examiner’s Report;
 - improve on their spelling of technical terms;
 - study often and prepare ahead of exams;
 - read textbooks that have enough description of topics rather than key points;
 - study questions properly before attempting them;
 - pay attention to rubrics and instructions;
 - study and label diagrams.
