This question was not a popular one with the candidates. Majority of the candidates that attempted this question did not answer part (a), they found it very new to them. Part (b) was well attempted to and performed very well in it.
The expected answers are:
(a) A standardized recipe is one in which the amount and proportions of the ingredients and the methods of procedure have been tested several times to produce a good quality product.
