SUMMARY OF CANDIDATES’ WEAKNESSES AND SUGGESTED REMEDIES

Candidates weakness were observed as follow:

• Unable to list the texture of a fabric;
• Unable to differentiated between renovation and remodeling, patching and darning;
• Unable to draw diagrams showing front & back bodice, front& back skirt;
• Unable to indicate some pattern symbols.

To overcome these weaknesses,

• Teachers should devote more time on practical aspect of the subject.
• Adequate textbooks for students should be provided to enhance learning.
• Candidates should be made to produce sample articles on each topic taught.
• Teachers should be encouraged by organizing seminars and workshop for them.
