Most candidates could not  differentiate between opening and fastenings.
                    The required answers to  the questions are as follows:
                    (a)       Uses of opening on garments
                      -      For free movement
   -      For decoration
  -     As a style feature
   -    Allows garment to be made in a close  fitting style
   -     Allows garments to be put on and  taken off easily.

Tapes, button and  buttonhole, zipper, button and loop/rouleaux loop, the strings, frogs, eyelet  and cord/lace.
                     3(d)     General  rules for attaching fastenings
                     -     Fastenings should be sewn on double fabrics
                       -     Fastenings should be enough to close the opening
   -     Fastenings should not gap but close the opening
    -  Fastenings should match the weight and texture of fabric.
   -    Fastenings should be washable if fabric is washable.
    -    Fastenings should suit the age of the wearer
     -    It should suit the sex of the wearer
   -    Fastenings should be sewn exactly  opposite one another in 
                      order that the opening will be flat  when fastened.
