The candidates that attempted the questions did very well in explaining the points. The candidates were expected to provide the following answers to the question:

FUNCTIONS PECULIAR TO THE OPERATIONS OF THE PUBLIC SERVICE IN NIGERIA  

1. Provision of technical/expert advice to government.
2. Preparation and implementation of budgets.
3. Serves as intermediary between government and the people. 
4. Contributes to the law making process.
5. Revenue mobilization/generation of taxes for government.
6. Provision of social services.
