  1. Outline Peter’s advise to the elders and members of the church on their interpersonal relationships.
  2. Mention three factors that may promote good interpersonal relationship.

 

Observation

 

 

This question was alsopopular among the candidates. In part A, most candidates performed fairly but did not give a complete outline of Peter’s advise to the elders on how to take care of God’s flock and how the different categories of members of the church should relate to their leaders and with themselves. The part B was less challenging as candidates were able to list the factors that can promote good interpersonal relationship. To obtain maximum marks, candidates should have stated that;

  1. Peter implored elders to be witnesses to the sufferings of Christ.
  2. He identified himself also as an elder.
  3. He encouraged them to be partakers of the glory that shall be revealed.
  4. Peter advised elders to work after God’s flock with tender care.
  5. They should not do it to make material gain but eagerness that comes from the heart.
  6. He said, elders should not work with presumptuous and domineering spirit.
  7. But as an example to be emulated by the flock.
  8. When the elders do their work rightly, they might attain the crown of glory.
  9. Peter also advised the young to be humble subjects to their leaders.
  10. He said, God demotes and humiliates the proud but exalts the humble.
  11. Peter advised both old and the young to leave all cases of anxiety in the hands of God.
  12. They should all in soberness be vigilant against the temptation of Satan.
  13. They should be aware that the devil is always around to lead the spiritually weak ones to destruction in hell.
  14. Peter said the Christians should have faith and remember that suffering is part of the Christian calling.
  15. He said suffering will lead to glory in Christ who has eternal dominion.

  3. Absence of conflict/forgiveness
  4. Friendly relationship/compatibility
  5. Transparency and honesty
  6. Sharing and caring for one another
  7. Commitment to one another.
  8. Mutual respect/humility
  9. Being reliable and trustworthy/fair play
  10. Being compassionate and kind to one another.
