However, majority of them were not able to:

(c) Advantages of conducting site investigation before the commencement of a building project:
- it saves the contractor from future legal tussles with the local authority and/or
occupiers of adjacent property;
- it forewarns the contractor of the type of problem to be expected during the operations
and enables him to take steps in advance to solve them;
- it prevents unnecessary danger to workmen, through proper planning of the operation;
- it reveals the foundation types to be adopted;
- it reveals the soil conditions.
