                    The candidates’ weaknesses included their inability to:

                       -  express  themselves precisely in simple English;

                      - start the answer  to each question on a fresh page;

                        - write their  answers legibly;

                        - comprehend the  questions asked.

                        - write correct  spellings of technical terms;

                        - give relevant answers because of poor understanding of various concepts e.g. mitosis and meiosis.

                      The following remedies were suggested to overcome these weaknesses

                        - Schools should encourage  teachers to participate in the WAEC main coordination meetings to enable them  prepare their students well;

                        - Government/private  schools should employ qualified teachers in Health Science;

                        - Teachers should place  emphasis on cogent points when teaching;

                        - The use of good English and correct spellings should be encouraged in schools.

                        - There is the need  for students to be drilled in handwriting to improve on legibility;

                        - Comprehension drills should be carried out in schools.
