This question was  attempted by many candidates and their performance was fair.  In part (a) candidates correctly stated  instances in which an individual would not be allowed to donate blood.  In part (b) many candidates mentioned wrong  answers as streams, rivers, rain water, lake and ponds as natural sources of  pure water. 
                    The expected  answers are as follows: 
                    2(a)      INSTANCES  WHEN AN INDIVIDUAL MAY BE DISALLOWED  
                      FROM DONATING BLOOD 
                    -     if the donor is anaemic/PCV/packed cell  volume is low  
                      -     if the donor is sick 
                      -     if the donor is  currently menstruating  
                      -     if the donor’s blood is diseased / named  e.g (HIV, HBP etc) 
                      -     if the donor is a  nursing/lactating mother 
                      -     if the donor is a  pregnant woman 
                      
                       (b)     NATURAL  SOURCES OF PURE WATER 
                      -     borehole 
                      -     deep well 
                      -     spring 
                      -     artesian well  |
