Observation
Candidates were expected to write a letter to their mother who had written to them expressing great concern that they were not making as much material progress as their less educated mates explaining the efforts they have been making and appealing to her not to compare them with others. There were two parts to the question (i) an explanation of the efforts being made and (ii) an appeal not to be compared with others. This was a popular question among candidates. Majority of the candidates who attempted the questionwrote the address, date, salutation and complimentary close properly. Also, candidates also used the right tone. However, some failed to write about material progress, rather they were explaining academic progress.
