Candidates' Weakness

 

The Chief Examiner reported that candidates showed poor skill in the following areas:

  1. Wrong use of application packages in performing task;
  2. Poor practical skills in CorelDraw application;
  3. Inability to Group objects in CorelDraw;
  4. Inability to state the steps followed in performing a task;
  5. Inability to measure distance between shapes in MS Word;
  6. Poor skill on displaying formula in MS Excel;
  7. Non-adherence to rubrics.

 

SUGGESTED REMEDIES

Based on the observed weaknesses, the Chief Examiners recommended the following remedies:

  1. Teachers should ensure that there are sufficient practical classes before the examination;
  2. Candidates were encouraged to practice well before the examination;
  3. Candidates should study the features and use of all application software listed in the curriculum;
  4. Students should always read instructions carefully before attempting questions in examinations.
  5. More hands-on should be done using CorelDraw application.
