General Weakness

- Candidates showed weakness in questions 4, 7 and 8. Question 4 was on international trade terms and documents and balance of payment. Question 7 was on business resources and external component of a business environment. Question 8 was on calculation of net profit, rate of turnover and total assets. Also factors that affect rate of turnover.

- Poor preparation for the examination. This was observed in candidates’ poor responses to questions.
- Insufficient knowledge of the subject, as a result they could not satisfactorily attempt calculation and applied questions.

SUGGESTED REMEDIES

(i) Candidates should be encouraged to study standard and comprehensive textbooks in their preparation for the examination rather than relying on key-points.
(ii) Candidates should cover every part of the syllabus while preparing for the examination. 

(iii) Students should also learn how to answer calculation and applied questions.
