CANDIDATES’ WEAKNESSES AND SUGGESTED REMEDIES
The candidates were unable to:

    - list the effects of porosity sandy, clay and loamy soil on farming;

    - mention the physical properties of silts;

    - outline the steps involved in processing groundnut after harvesting;

    - calculate the plant population of groundnut;

    - name the parts of the udder;

    - outline the steps involved in collecting milk;

    - state the number of teats which can be found in farm animals;

Based on the observed weaknesses, the Chief Examiners recommended as follows:

  •        Candidates should embark on visits to agricultural farms;
  • There should be intensive self-study and revision before examination;
  • Hands-on practical exposure is advocated;
  • Candidates should be exposed to technical terms used in agriculture;
  • Improved reading culture among candidates is advocated;
