Many candidates performed poorly in question 1a, 1b and 1c. Many of the candidates answered these questions wrongly and were unable todefine baby’s layette, mention the items that should be included in a baby’s layette and state guidelines on how to care for baby’s clothing correctly. Therefore,they performed woefully. The expected answers are: Baby’s layette as the basic or complete outfit or clothing for new born babies. Items that should be included in baby’s layette are diapers, vest, shawls and guidelines on how tocare for baby’s clothing are avoid harsh detergent when washing the clothes, use fabric softener, dry under the sun and store in dry, clean container/wardrobes.
