Observation

This is a summary passage and it tests candidates’ ability to read for main ideas in a given passage. The candidates are required to be precise in their responses. They are also not expected to lift from the passage. In their effort to avoid lifting, they used words that negate what they wanted to say. Also, most of the answers were not written in sentences and some of their sentences have no subject.  Furthermore, most of the responses provided has the pronoun used as the subject instead of the noun being discussed.  All these accounted for the poor performance of candidates in this section.
