- Establishment of Public Complaint Commission/Ombudsman

- Enhancement of productivity through improved reward system in public service
- Adherence to merits in appointments, promotion and discipline
- War against corruption in public service through the use of Code of Conduct Bureau and other related agencies such as EFCC, ICPC, etc.
- Professionalization of public service
- Exposure to various training opportunities
- Ensuring job security and tenure of public servants
- Control of undue red-tapism/bureaucracy/bottlenecks
(b) Importance of Public Service in Nigeria
- Provision of technical/expert advice to government
- Preparation and implementation of budgets

- Revenue mobilization/generation of taxes for government
- Provision of social/essential services to the public at cheaper rates
