Observation

(a) It a narrative essay of a drama watched on the television. Most candidates retold video drama they watched, but failed to criticize the story and the lesson learnt.

(b) This is expository essay on if the candidates become the local government chairman of his/her council area. The few candidates that attempted this essay did well by enumerating items of good governance expected from local government chairmen.

(d) The essay topic is on the causes of illness in our society. Candidates enumerated major causes of illness in our society. However, some candidates approached the essay through letter writing.

(e) A descriptive essay on ?Ope? (Palm Tree). Some candidates got it right by mentioning the value of Palm tree as a cash crop. While some misinterpreted it as ?ope? (Gratitude)

(e) A formal letter to the Editor of a Newspaper on the danger of drug abuse. Most candidates dealt well with the structure of the letter but failed to address the danger in drug abuse properly.

However, on a general note; the candidates wrote short essay and had poor expression.
