This question was attempted by many candidates and their performance was fair. In part (a) many candidates were able to list skills used in the game of football. In part (b) (i) and (ii) most of the candidates could not correctly explain direct free kick and indirect free kick. In part (c) they did well in it, but some gave a wrong answers such as edge, handle, bronze, plain metal e.t.c.

The expected answers are as follow:

(a) Skills in football game
    - dribbling;
    - kicking;
    - shooting;
    - passing;
    - trapping;
    - chesting;
    - throw-in;
    - goal keeping ;
    - heading;
    - tackling and marking.

(b) Direct free kick
    a goal can be scored without the ball touching a player
    Indirect free kick
    a goal cannot be scored without the ball touching another player

(c) Parts of a javelin
    - head/tip;
    - shaft;
    - cord/grip;
    - tail.
