This question was attempted by many candidates and their performance was very good.  

In part (a) candidates  correctly stated benefits a player derives from being a member of the national football team.

In part (b) candidates  also correctly stated ways by which a referee many prevent violence in football game.  

The expected answers are as follows: 

(a)        BENEFITS OF A PLAYER AS A MEMBER OF THE NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM

• develops a sense of followership

• develops the spirit of give and take/sense of sharing/cooperation/belonging

• acquires the status of ambassador/meeting heads of states

 
(b)     WAYS BY WHICH A REFEREE CAN PREVENT VIOLENCE IN A FOOTBALL GAME

• by being familiar with the rules of the game
• must be fast in taking decisions
• must be firm
• must be fair in judgement/not biased/not take side/good officiting
• must be smart
• must be vigilant
• quick consultation with his assistant when in doubt
