This question was attempted by many candidates and their performance was very good.  

In part (a) candidates  correctly stated benefits a player derives from being a member of the national football team.

In part (b) candidates  also correctly stated ways by which a referee many prevent violence in football game.  

The expected answers are as follows: 

(a)        BENEFITS OF A PLAYER AS A MEMBER OF THE NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM

  • gains more recognition/popular/famous/honour
  • develops a sense of followership
  • develops a sense/quality of leadership
  • develops the spirit of give and take/sense of sharing/cooperation/belonging
  • making new friends outside his/her own country
  • appreciates other people’s culture
  • earning more money/financial reward
  • greater exposure to different parts of the world
  • develops sense of patriotism
  • acquires the status of celebrity
  • acquires the status of ambassador/meeting heads of states

 
(b)     WAYS BY WHICH A REFEREE CAN PREVENT VIOLENCE IN A FOOTBALL GAME
