(b)    State one function of each of the following parts of a male reproductive system:
(i) testis                                                                                                      [1 mark]
(ii) epididymis                                                                                             [1 mark]
(iii) seminal vesicle                                                                                     [1 mark]

  

Observation

 

  • This question was attempted by many candidates and their performance was poor. In part (a) most of the candidates could not correctly state function of Calcium in humans. In part (b) the candidates could not correctly state one function of the testis, epididymis and seminal vesicle.

    3. (a)    FUNCTIONS OF CALCIUM

    • for formation of teeth
    • for development of bones
    • for nerve functioning
    • for clotting of  blood
    • for muscles contraction
    • for  iron metabolism   

    (b)(i)    FUNCTIONS OF TESTIS

    • production of sperm
    • production of testosterone/hormone

       (ii)     FUNCTION OF EPIDIDYMIS     

    • Stores sperm

       (iii)   FUNCTION OF SEMINAL VESICLE

    • Produces / stores semen/fluid which makes the sperm swim
