  4. Describe the road network in the mapped area.

Observation

This was a compulsory question meant to be answered by all candidates and almost all of them answered the question with good performance.  Most of the candidates were able to reduce the outline and inserted the required features correctly.  Most of the candidates were also able to calculate the length of the required road  but were unable to describe the road network in the mapped area. The description of the road network goes thus:

-           There are classes 1, 2 and 3 roads in the mapped area
-           The class 1 road runs from the northwest through the central portion to the southeast
-           A class 2 road runs from BECHEM in the south east to TECHIMANTIA
-           A class 2 road runs from Dwommo westwards to DUAYAW-NKWANTA
-           The road network is denser in the central portion of the mapped area
-           A class 2 roads connects to the class 1 road at DUAYAW-NKWANTA
-           The entire mapped area is well served by class 3 roads
-           The class 3 roads are connected to the class 1 and class 2 roads
-           The classes 1 and 2 roads connect to the major settlements in the mapped area
-           classes 1 and 2 roads converged at BECHEM (BEKYEM)
-           Foot paths are found all over the mapped area.
-           Tracks and major footpaths are mostly found in the northern part of the mapped area
