Foods and Nutrition Paper 2, WASSCE (PC), 2019

Question 5

OBSERVATION
In questions 5 (a) and (b), candidates were expected to state five table etiquette and the position of knife, flower vase, table napkins, tumblers and fork in table setting. This question garnered a mixed reaction from candidates as it was reported that some candidates performed excellently while some did not do so well.
For the candidates that performed well, the provided correct responses such as: a diner should not speak loudly when at table; a diner should sit erect without resting his/her arms on the table; a diner should eat slowly and quietly; a diner should not talk with food in the mouth e.t.c.

On the other hand, candidates who did not do well either did not understand the question or have little knowledge of the subject. They listed table appointment such as fork, knife and tumblers instead of table etiquettes in 5 (a) and could not state the position of table appointment in 5 (b).
