Candidates' Weakness

The Chief Examiner reported that majority of the few candidates that attempted questions on the concept of operational amplifier as well as the principle of operation of radio and television system receivers did not respond well.

(b) Suggested Remedy

To overcome these weaknesses, it was suggested in the report that candidates should be made to understand the:

• concept of operational amplifier and calculation of the various parameters the inverting and non-inverting amplifiers ;
• different stages of superheterodyne radio receivers and the requirement for the operation of the various television systems.
