Candidates' Weakness

 

The Chief Examiner reported that the candidates’ weakness was evident in the following areas:

  1. Poor knowledge of database;
  2. Illegible handwriting;
  3. Incorrect spelling of computing terms;
  4. Poor knowledge of BASIC Programming;
  5. Poor knowledge of computer graphics.

SUGGESTED REMEDIES

Based on the observed weaknesses, the Chief Examiners recommended the following remedies:

  1. Computer teachers with sound knowledge in programming should be employed to teach the subject;
  2. Teachers should pay more attention to the programming section of the syllabus;
  3. Teachers should emphasize on keyword spellings;
  4. Students should write clearly and legibly;
  5. Parents should aide their children on good handwriting practices.
