Candidates:


  • did not use appropriate technical terms.

  • did not understand the demand of the questions before responding to them.

  • could not define the terms allotropy and neutralization

  • could not state the observations made by Lord Rutherford in his α-particle scattering experiment.

  • could not substitute correctly while calculating some parameters.

  • could not draw the structural isomers of organic compounds

  • could not give reason why water is referred to as universal solvent.

The following remedies were however suggested:


Candidates should:


  • understand the demand of the questions before responding to them

  • learn to explain concepts using appropriate technical terms

  • improve on their mathematical skills

  • read and understand the rubrics of the questions before responding to questions
