Candidates’ weaknesses were observed in the following areas:

• Inability to sketch one leading and one trailing shoe hydraulic brake arrangement;

• Inability to identify electrical symbols;

 

• Inability to sketch a single-phase clutch in a disengaged position;

• Inability to state the merits of a diaphragm spring clutch.

 

(2)        SUGGESTED REMEDIES FOR OVERCOMING THE WEAKNESSES

In order to overcome the weaknesses, candidates were advised to study seriously and attempt to sketch most of the parts of a vehicle.
