Candidates’ weaknesses were shown in their inability to:

• state the functions of the parts of the coil ignition system;
• state correctly the cause of spongy brake;
• name the device for checking oil level in the sump; and
• explain why a swinging shackle is fixed to one end of a leaf spring.

In order to overcome these weaknesses, candidates should take their studies seriously.
