Candidate's Weakness

The following weaknesses were shown in the candidates’ work:

  1.  Commission of grammatical mistakes;
  2.  Writing irrelevancies;
  3.  Display of shallow knowledge of the texts;
  4.  Inadvertent violation of rubrics;
  5.  Misinterpretation of questions.

Suggested Remedies

To address the observed weaknesses, the Chief Examiners recommended the following:

  1. Candidates must try as much as possible to read widely and prepare thoroughly                    for the examination.
  2. Candidates should be encouraged to read the instructions very well so as to adequately understand the demands of the questions before attempting them.
  3. Teachers should endeavour to teach the candidates how to answer questions in a logical and clear manner.
  4. Candidates should learn and master the correct spellings of the vocabulary.
  5. Conscious efforts should be made by candidates to write legibly in Arabic.
  6. Candidates should   procure the prescribed texts for Arabic Literature.
  7. Qualified teachers should teach the subject so as to adequately impart the required knowledge to the students.
