Weakness and Remedies

The following were observed as the candidates’weaknesses:

• poor knowledge of four figure table to get logarithms of value;
• inability to calculate correctly quantities such as reciprocal, square root, square, logarithms, trigonometric ratio into at least 3 d.p;
• writings on graphs were not clearly seen.

Based on the observed weaknesses, the Chief Examiners recommended as follows:

• use of marking schemes should be encouraged in teaching;
• students should be encouraged on the right approach in solving Mathematical related problems;
• candidates should practice exercises from recommended textbooks;
• graph sheets should be printed red instead of ash colour..
