(a) What is latent image in analogue photography?
(b) Highlight the six processes of making a latent image permanently visible in analogue photography printing process.
(c) Identify any five tools/materials/equipment found in the:
(i) dry area;
(ii) wet area.

Observation

This was a straight forward question for the candidates which required from them the knowledge of latent image in analogue photography. Their performance was not good enough. Candidates were expected to provide the following points:
 
(a)        A latent image in analogue photography is the invisible image created when a film or photo paper is exposed but not yet processed or developed.

(b)        (i)         Expose the image from the negative unto the paper using an enlarger.
(ii)       Put the exposed photo paper in the developer.
(iii)      Agitate for stipulated period of time.
(iv)      Remove the photo paper from the developer and dip into the stop bath.
(v)        Remove from the stop bath and dip in the fixer and allow it to stay for stipulated
period of time.
(vi)       Remove from fixer.
(vii)     Rinse in running water.
(viii)     Hang to dry.
