Orchestra is an ensemble of musical instruments of four different families. It is associated with Western music. It consists of woodwind, brasswind, percussion and stings families.  Orchestra may have any number of performers but must consist of four different sections

                                                                                                           

 

Differences between oratorio and opera

(i)	It is set on secular subject.	It is set on religious/sacred subject.
(ii)	Opera is on large scale.	Oratorio is on small scale.
(iii)	It uses theatrical elements such as costume, scenery and lighting.	It does not use any theatrical element such as those used in oratorio.
(iv)	It is acted on stage or in a theatre.	It does not need stage or theatre for its performance.
