The question was broken down into sections requiring different activities. The students were expected to construct a model of a panel door.

  • 2 SIDE RAIL GROOVES
  • 2 END RAIL GROOVES
  • REBATING PANEL
  • BEVELING PANEL
  • FINISHING
  • DRESSING                     

Comments on Students attempt at the question:                                            

  • Majority of the candidates failed to provide the haunch.
  • Most of the tenons were poorly made
  • Most of the candidates failed to mark and cut the bridle joint correctly, some made a variation of the joint.
  • The grooves were poorly made.
  • Most of the candidates did not cut the rebate.
