  1. Write Sūratul Ikhlᾱṣ in either Arabic or transliteration
  2. Translate Sūratul Ikhlᾱṣ into English
  3. State the teachings of Sūratul Ikhlᾱṣ

This three in one question is very explanatory enough for candidates that really prepared for the exam. Although, the question was made compulsory but options were given in (a). Virtually all students tried their best to answer the question. Few candidates misinterpreted the question by writing both in Arabic and transliteration. Here are some of the important points required in the answer which the candidates failed to give:

Transliteration.
Bismillᾱhir Raḥmᾱnir Raḥīm.

  • Qul huwa llᾱhu aḥad.
  • Allᾱhu Ṣamad.
  • Lam yalid walam yūlad.
  • Walam yakun lahu kufwan aḥad.
  • Translation.

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficient, the most Merciful.

  • Say: He, Allah is One;
  • Allah the Eternal Absolute;
  • He begets not, nor is He begotten;
  • And there is none like unto Him.
  • Teachings.
  • Islam is a monotheistic religion.
  • The Sūrah is the cornerstone of Islamic doctrine.
  • It affirms the Unity of Allah.
  • Absolute existence is part of Allah’s Attributes.
  • Allah is Eternal Absolute.
  • He has neither a son nor a daughter.
  • He also has no father since He is beyond human conception.
  • The concept of Trinity is denied and has no place in Islam.
  • Allah is not comparable to any of His creations.
  • Anything associated with the Godhead amounts to Shirk.
  • Associating partners with Allah is an unforgivable sin.
  • The Sūrah teaches some attributes of Allah such as Aḥad and Ṣamad.
  • It teaches the Uniqueness of Allah.
  • It teaches that all humankind depend on Allah.
  • Muslims must proclaim the Oneness and Uniqueness of Allah.
