           Write on the mission of Prophet Nuh (A..S)as one of the  ’Ulul-’AzmMinar-Rusul

Observation

Despite the question being popular among few candidates, most of the candidates avoided it. Few candidates who attempted it performed fairly. The question demanded from the candidates to explain the mission of the. Thus:

 

           Mission of Prophet Nūḥ (A.S) as one of the’Ulul-’AzmMinar-Rusul

 

  ’Ulul-’AzmMinar-Rusul were the five Prophets and Messengers regarded as possessors of  determination in calling people to the path of Allah. Prophet Nūḥ (A.S.) was the first among them (Q.46:35).  (Introduction)

 

  1. Prophet Nūḥ (A.S.) lived many years after Prophet Adam (A.S.).
  2. He admonished his people to worship Allah alone and avoid evil.
  3. He relentlessly preached to his people day and night for about 950 years without much success.
  4. The people to whom he was sent bluntly refused to listen to him because they were practising idolatry.
  5. They laughed at and made jest of him.
  6. He continuously strived to convince his people to accept his missionhood.
  7. There is a promise of forgiveness of sins if they obey Allah (Q.71:10).
  8. Prophet Nūḥ (A.S.) promised them Allah’s reward of rain, wealth, children and gardens in abundance (Q.71:11-12).
  9. Prophet Nūḥ’s (A.S.) people were engulfed with the worship of Wadd, Suwā‘a, Yaghūth, Ya‘uq and Nasr (Q.71:23).
  10. His people used to say how they could accept a faith which favours the superior alongside the inferior equally.
  11. In order not to accept his call, they placed their fingers into their ears.
  12. With their deviance, Allah later instructed him to build an Ark (Q.11:37:38).
  13. In the process, his people made fun of him.
  14. They defecated in the Ark in order to embarrass him.
  15. Allah caused flood of punishment to overtake them.
  16. Prophet Nūḥ (A.S.) was later instructed to enter the ship together with those who believed in his message
  17. He was also directed to take into the Ark one male and one female of each kind of animal on earth (Q.11:40).
  18. Prophet Nūḥ (A.S.) nursed a fatherly concern for the safety of his son from destruction (Q.11:45-46).
  19. Prophet Nūḥ (A.S.) did as he was instructed and he sailed in the name of Allah (Q.11:42-43).
  20. Prophet Nūḥ (A.S.) lost one of his sons who refused to board the Ark with him to the flood.(Q.11:42-43)
  21. Prophet Nūḥ’s (A.S.) Ark eventually floated safely till the flood subsided in Mount Judi.
  22. Then those in the ship came out safely. 
  23. Prophet Nūḥ (A.S.) and his people, who were saved from destruction, laid the foundation of re-establishment of religious order.
  24. A chapter was named after him to elucidate the significance of his missionhood.
